Queen of Apostles
This catholic fine art print is centered on our Lady as Queen of the Apostles. This title occurs in the Litany of Loreto and many since the early Church have invoked her in this title. From early times Christians have believed, and not without reason, that she of whom was born the Son of the Most High received privileges of grace above all other beings created by God. He will reign in the house of Jacob forever, as the Prince of Peace, and the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. And when Christians reflected upon these scriptural titles of their Lord, and the intimate connection that obtains between a mother and a son, they readily acknowledged the supreme royal dignity of the Mother of God. In imitation of her Son and Lord, who was meek and humble of heart, Mary, as the most humble of His servants to ever live, was raised by Him to be the Queen of His kingdom.
Hence it is not surprising that the early writers of the Church called Mary "the Mother of the King" and "the Mother of the Lord," basing their stand on the words of St. Gabriel the archangel, who foretold that the Son of Mary would reign forever, and on the words of Elizabeth who greeted her with reverence and called her "the Mother of my Lord." Thereby they clearly signified that she derived a certain eminence and exalted station from the royal dignity of her Son.
In this window she crowned with twelve stars that represent the Twelve Apostles of the Lord. She presents her son to the world as the light of the world amid the storms of the darkness and sin. She is invoke in this title intercede in a special way for the Pope and current Bishops, who are the successors of the Apostles.
Just above Her and her Son is the Holy Spirit who works through the Pope and the bishops in communion with him to guide His Church unto all truth in matters of faith and morals. Surrounding the Holy Spirit in the upper outer frame are seven winged like shapes that represents the seven spirits of God who surround His throne in heaven (book of Revelations). Also in the outer frame are twenty light blue circles that represent the twenty mysteries of the rosary, which is a contemplative prayer on the life of Jesus while on earth and His Glory now in heaven. In between the beads are twenty light blue diamond like shapes the represent the angels that are assigned to Mary as queen of Heaven and Earth and assist her in work of intercession in the communion of Saints. Below the central icon are three large ovals. The central oval contains an ancient royal representation of Mary’s name and the rays that emanate from the letters represent the graces she obtains for us through her intercession. The oval on the left is the coat of arms of the Papal office. The oval on the right contains a monstrance holding the Holy Eucharist and which Mary urges us to make the source and summit of our lives – her Son Jesus Christ.
