The central
image in this window is the menorah. One of the oldest symbols of the Jewish
faith is the menorah. The seven-branched candelabrum was used in the ancient
temple of Solomon. The kohanin lit the menorah in the sanctuary every evening
and cleaned it every morning and trimmed the wicks. The menorah was constructed
according to instructions found in the book of Exodus (25:31-40). The menorah
is a symbol of the nation of Israel and its faith in G-d as well as its mission
to be a "light to the nations (Isaiah 42:6)
