This window is
centered on the biblical scene of Adam and Eve in the beginning of the book of
Genesis. In this depiction of the creation story Eve has already eaten the
forbidden fruit which she holds in her left hand hidden from Adam and is
offering the same kind of fruit to Adam which he is about to eat. The serpent
in the tree to the right of Eve waits for Adam to eat the fruit and thus
complete his deception of our fist parents. The lion to the right of Eve
already has a hungry carnivorous look on his face. Prior to the original sin of
Adam and Eve all the animals ate plants. As portrayed in this image this
biblical event takes place in the lush Garden of Eden. Surrounding the central image
are three stars of David. Above the top star is the Holy Name of God in Hebrew
letters, which translates to I AM WHO AM.
This is the name God gave to Moses at the burning bush. Below the
central image is a scroll of the Torah, which contains this biblical event.
